We are privileged to have Mr. Juckchai Boonyawat, President of the Thailand Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF), as our guest speaker. Mr. Boonyawat will present an overview of the current state of Thailand’s capital markets, and discuss the pivotal role CMDF plays in fostering market growth.
Following the presentation, there will be a fireside chat between Juckchai and Ms. Janet Li, CFA, Society Secretary and Executive Director of CFA Society Hong Kong (also CEO of BEA Union Investment). This conversation will explore potential avenues for collaboration between Hong Kong and Thailand, focusing on opportunities for mutual growth and partnership. Additionally, the session will include updates on the evolving landscape for financial professionals in Thailand, offering attendees valuable insights into the industry’s dynamics.

Juckchai Boonyawat

Thailand Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF)
Juckchai has more than 20 years of experience specializing in financial service and corporate consulting in the areas of investment management, wealth distribution, and corporate solutions from both local and foreign financial institutions.
He started his professional financial services career in investment banking with a local asset management firm and entered into a global wealth management as a Chief Distribution Officer at Manulife Asset Management (Thailand). He also gained international experience in managing corporate solutions business as a Head of Sales & Marketing at AIA, responsible for driving corporate solutions business with Asia Pacific team.
During the last 5 years, he was appointed as a CEO at Mercer (Thailand), mainly responsible for managing and expanding wealth, health, and career consulting portfolio by leveraging global and regional Mercer’s capability.
Juckchai is currently a President of Thailand Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF) responsible for executing funding support to develop Thailand capital market ecosystem in the 4-core themes – infrastructure development, competency of capital market professionals, national financial literacy, and capital-market-related research & innovations.

Janet Li is the Chief Executive Officer of BEA Union Investment. Prior to joining BEA Union Investment, she was the Wealth Business Leader for Asia and a Partner at Mercer, where she led the Retirement and Investment business of the firm in the region. Throughout her over 20 years’ investment consulting career, she worked closely with institutional clients and platforms on their portfolios, and across diverse types of asset classes ranging from public to private markets investments.
Janet is currently serving as the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Retirement Schemes Association (HKRSA). She is also a Member of the Human Capital Committee of the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC). She is an Adjunct Associate Professor of The Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Hong Kong.
Janet graduated with Bachelor Degree of Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong and is a CFA charterholder.
