About the event
With the recent events of FTX, there is a growing concern about investment in cryptocurrency. While many people are still optimistic about crypto as an asset, it is rather rare that these investors consider themselves as experienced in this developing product. We are honoured to have Victor Li from Firinne Capital to guide us through and answer some frequently asked questions about crypto, and share his insight and vision about investing in cryptocurrency.
The Speaker
Victor Li has been a crypto asset investor and researcher since 2014. He is a co-founder of DeFi Toronto, a 2000-member community group that advocates decentralized finance (DeFi) as a use case of public blockchains. In 2020, he and his team won the first prize from Aave during EthGlobal’s DeFi hackathon. Victor undertakes crypto asset research at Firinne Capital and teaches a blockchain course at York University in Toronto. He is a curriculum advisor to George Brown College’s post-graduate blockchain certificate program.
Victor has over 20 years of experience in investment research and portfolio management. He used to cover macroeconomics, real estate, fixed income and equity research for two Canadian pension funds. Victor has a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Victoria, and is a CFA charterholder.
